Therapeutic Massage post treatment:
For the second year Paul Lewis Services (www.paullewis.ca) will be setting up the Massage station to support the 3000 riders. Therapist from different areas of Ontario come together to support a worthy cause.
The Event:
Granfondo means long distance or great endurance. It is a phenomenon that first took Italy by storm and eventually made its way here to North America. There are now major granfondo events across the continent and now the the Greater Toronto Area has one to call its own – PwC Epic Tour Halton.
Like a marathon in running, a GranFondo gives everyday athletes an opportunity to set and conquer epic personal goals. Join thousands of your fellow riders on your choice of a 170K, 14o km, 110K, 80km, 50km or 10km courses of breathtaking beauty. We’ll make it a day you will never forget with dedicated lanes, world class event organization, mechanical support, rests stops and nutrition stations all along the route.
PwC Epic Tour was founded on the belief that it is important to re-invest in the community. Each year, we donate $20,000 from the proceeds of the event which is allocated to the 4 hospital foundations in Halton:
- Georgetown Hospital Foundation
- Joseph Brant Hospital Foundation
- Milton District Hospital Foundation
- Oakville Hospital Foundation
The PwC Epic Tour management team conceptualized and developed the Halton Hills Community Cycling Challenge. The program will have raised $116,000 for the Georgetown Hospital Foundation by the end of the 2014 cycling season.
